Modeling Performance Optimization in a Non- Cooperative Ad Hoc Network
نویسنده
چکیده
Mobile ad hoc networks represent a special class of dynamic networks. Here nodes act as both hosts and routers whereby the routing protocol forms the backbone of such networks. Mobile ad hoc networks are constrained by bandwidth, energy and ever changing topologies. Thus to conserve some of these scarce resources, a few nodes may stop cooperation. In this paper we model a dynamic noncooperative scenario. To investigate the optimal performance of routing, we consider reinforcement learning based routing algorithm. Mobility models have a profound effect on the functioning of ad hoc networks and thus we study the effect of Gauss Markov Model and Optimized City Section Model on routing protocol performances.

Today, one of the new technologies in the modern era is Vehicular Ad-hoc Network which has takenenormous attention in the recent years. Because of rapid topology changing and frequent disconnectionmakes it difficult to design an efficient routing protocol for routing data between vehicles, called V2V orvehicle to vehicle communication and vehicle to roadside infrastructure, called V2I. متن کاملA New Routing Algorithm for Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks based on Glowworm Swarm Optimization Algorithm
Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) are a particular type of Mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) in which the vehicles are considered as nodes. Due to rapid topology changing and frequent disconnection makes it difficult to design an efficient routing protocol for routing data among vehicles. In this paper, a new routing protocol based on glowworm swarm optimization algorithm is provided. Using the g...
متن کاملBroadcast Routing in Wireless Ad-Hoc Networks: A Particle Swarm optimization Approach
While routing in multi-hop packet radio networks (static Ad-hoc wireless networks), it is crucial to minimize power consumption since nodes are powered by batteries of limited capacity and it is expensive to recharge the device. This paper studies the problem of broadcast routing in radio networks. Given a network with an identified source node, any broadcast routing is considered as a directed...
متن کاملJoint routing and scheduling optimization in arbitrary ad hoc networks: Comparison of cooperative and hop-by-hop forwarding
Cooperation schemes form a key aspect of infrastructure-less wireless networks that allow nodes that cannot directly communicate to exchange information through the help of intermediate nodes. The most widely adopted approach is based on hop-by-hop forwarding at the network layer along a path to destination. Cooperative relaying brings cooperation to the physical layer in order to fully exploit...
متن کاملDetermining Cluster-Heads in Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks Using Multi-Objective Evolutionary based Algorithm
A mobile ad-hoc network (MANET), a set of wirelessly connected sensor nodes, is a dynamic system that executes hop-by-hop routing independently with no external help of any infrastructure. Proper selection of cluster heads can increase the life time of the Ad-hoc network by decreasing the energy consumption. Although different methods have been successfully proposed by researchers to tackle...
